LogMeIn, a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider for business meetings, remote login and support solutions, recently released a fascinating report on a new term and phenomenon in the business world. “Bring your own application”, or BYOA for short, is a term coined in reference to an increasingly mobile tribe of workers, who rely on personal phone, tablet and laptop applications to improve their productivity, manage workflow and enhance the quality of their customer interactions.
The article points out that this is an undeniable change in the way business is done, where innovation is taking rise from the employee level, instead of being instituted from the top down. LogMeIn points out statistics on how employers are responding to BYOA and encourages employers to embrace the opportunities, while mitigating challenges.
I’d encourage you to take a peek and let me know what you think. How are you using mobile apps to change your work life?
